Just Yesterday

I don’t remember being a kid,
the playground,
the games,
the foolish things I did.
I don’t recall a time
when I didn’t think
and plan
and use my mind.
Yet all these youngsters
live in the past
and begin each sentence
with a hash.
Everything was easier,
or so they say,
when they were kids,
just yesterday.
